Welcome to Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute. Our offices are located near downtown Seattle at the Met Park East (MPE) building. This page provides basic information on MPE COVID-19 precautions, parking, and more for visitors as well as employees who do not yet have access to KP systems. Before arriving, visitors who are driving and parking in our facility should inquire with their KPWHRI contact if parking validation or reimbursement is applicable to their visit. We encourage visitors to reserve their parking via ParkChirp (available online or via a mobile phone app). This app provides the most cost-effective option for parking at the Met Park East and Met Park West garages, allowing for all-day parking at a deeply discounted rate. Search for “Met Park East” on Minor Avenue in Seattle for the closest and most affordable parking options.
Visitors should arrange to meet a KPWHRI employee in the lobby of Met Park East, as elevator and door access require an employee keycard.
Given the current low levels of COVID transmission in King County, masking is now recommended, but not required, in all KPWHRI administrative offices. However, this does not change masking requirements or the COVID protocols in our Research Clinic at MPE. Masking continues to be mandatory in all KPWHRI clinics.
Please perform a self-check for any COVID-19 symptoms prior to coming into the office. If you have any symptoms, please reschedule your visit until you’ve met the required precaution guidelines.
For Kaiser Permanente Washington employees: Swiping your MPE building access keycard at any elevator with a keycard reader serves as your COVID-19 symptom self-check attestation. For those working on the 13th floor, we ask that you swipe your MPE keycard at the main elevators even though this is not required to access your floor.
