Greenwood-Hickman accepts research associate position

Mikael Anne Greenwood-Hickman, MPH, previously a project manager with Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute (KPWHRI), is now a research associate. Using her extensive experience in epidemiology, accelerometer data processing, quantitative analysis, and qualitative research, she will be working on aging and physical activity-related research with KPWHRI's Dori Rosenberg, PhD, MPH, Sascha Dublin, MD, PhD, and Clarissa Hsu, PhD.

Dr. Matthews presents at biomedical research conference

In July, Kaiser Permanente Washington Institutional Review Board Administrator Tanya Matthews, PhD, presented at a panel at the 2021 Northwest Association for Biomedical Research IRB conference. Moderated by Cheryl Weaver from the Benaroya Research Institute, Dr. Matthews, with Jenn Hansberry from Swedish Medical Center, and Jessica Cohen from PATH, discussed pausing and reopening research during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drs. Liao, Micks, and Zhu are new affiliate investigators

KPWHRI welcomes three new affiliate investigators: Joshua Liao, MD, MSc, is an internal medicine physician, medical director of payment strategy, and associate professor at the University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine. He leads the UW Value and Systems Science Lab. Elizabeth Micks, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UW, where she does clinical care, research, and teaching.  Lee-Ching Zhu, MD, MS, is clinical associate professor at the Department of Pathology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with skills and expertise in immunohistochemistry and colorectal cancer.
