Project summary

Kaiser Permanente has prioritized reducing the digital divide for its most vulnerable members. The intervention focuses on individuals experiencing a digital divide who are issued a TracFone device, or a SIM card to use with their current device, to support their interactions with KP. TracFone Wireless is part of government-supported program that provides free or discounted telephones, text, and data services for low-income households. Dr. Grant and his team are designing an evaluation that will begin in 2022 to assess this intervention’s effect on health care access.
